This firm is a Boston-based investment manager with a long-term, value-oriented approach has an opening for a Custody & Treasury Operations Analyst. Since founding, the firm has been thoughtfully stewarding and compounding capital on behalf of families, foundations and endowments, as well as employees who collectively are the firm’s largest client. The firm manages with a broad and flexible charter, investing in a wide range of asset classes, including significant holdings in publicly traded debt and equity securities, private debt, real estate, and private equity.
The ideal candidate for the role should possess the following characteristics and qualifications:
Undergraduate degree with three or more years of professional experience in a highly detail-oriented work environment; investment management or financial services operations background a plus
Strong analytical, problem solving, reconciliation, and computer skills (notably Excel)
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to both drive work independently, but also collaboratively in a team-oriented environment that values building and maintaining productive internal & external relationships
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while effectively handling a variety of priorities; strong multitasker who can effectively prioritize work assignments
Desire to work in the details, while also having the ability to understand a macro perspective

The analyst will be a critical member of a select operations team that emphasizes critical thinking over processing by seeking efficiencies, highlighting trends and considering ways to mitigate risk. In addition to traditional settlement and middle office functions, the team is also responsible for managing cash and liquidity as well as supporting strategic relationships with custodians and counterparties.
Essential functions of this position will include, but are not limited to:
Oversight of all incoming and outgoing cash & security movements for the investment partnerships and the management company
Assessment of daily cash needs
Confirmation and instruction of foreign and domestic securities
Dividend, interest and pay-down collection and validation
Cash and position reconciliation
Daily collateral management for credit counterparties
Proxy voting and corporate action processing
Confirmation and settlement of derivatives, trade claims and distressed debt investments. Document review for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established company and industry standards.
Coordination of information flow between internal constituents (front office, trading, compliance, legal, accounting) and external constituents (custodian bank, legal counsel, counterparty)
Support of regulatory initiatives with research and analysis to ensure compliance with requirements
